The Union University women’s golf team posted a second-place finish at the Buccaneer Spring Classic hosted by Christian Brothers University. The 3-round event was held at the Irene Golf and Country Club and featured five teams with 36 golfers.

Union head coach Ryan Chandler said, “I am very proud of our teams. Both teams continue to be in contention this spring and we are so close! We definitely had some great individual performances on both sides, including Kallie winning on the women’s side. I think if we continue to find ways to get off to good starts and finish rounds, we will have more opportunites to get it done.”

Union’s Kallie Robertson won the event with a 224 +8 (72, 78, 74). She won by three strokes over Tusculum’s Nilubol Panno.

For the second straight event, Union earned second place. Union shot a 957 (316, 324, 317) and finished 11 shots behind host CBU.

Tusculum University was third, Rhodes fourth, and Lincoln fifth. CBU also played a B-Team in the event.

A trio of Union golfers finished T11 including Cecily Berry (78, 84, 82), McKinnley Korte (82, 82, 80), and Nicole Taylor (84, 79, 81), all with 244 scores. Korte played as an individual.
