The USJ Bruins pulled out a gutsy regional championship win, against Lausanne 29- 28 in overtime!

This game will go down in history as one of the best in west Tennessee high school. It was a battle all night long, by the time it was halftime everyone in attendance knew that they were in for a treat! Tied 14-14 at home in absolute trench battle, both sides were insanely determined to get the W for their squad.

The Bruins added a new wrinkle to the offense to help us pull this game out, we ran star running back Noah Spencer out of the wildcat formation (a direct snap to the running back). This caught Lausanne defense off guard and they struggled to stop it all game. Noah and the wall of Bruins offense line dominated the Lynx! Spencer had 240 yards  on 38 carries, he had 4 touchdowns and a passing touchdown, and an interception on defensive side of the ball! This was another incredible performance from an insanely gifted athlete. Another monster performance came from senior Alex Wallace, Wallace had 19 tackles and completed the game winning 2 point conversion. He has been clutch all season and really showed it against Lausanne on a big stage.

Quarterback Corben Howard showed great poise and composure having the confidence to throw the pass to complete the victory. Miles Horton also had 5 tackles and a momentum shifting interception, and Senior Ben Melton also had a great performance with 13 tackles and one for a loss. These are the type of games are the ones that teams will never forget, and form a bond that can never be broken. The Bruins are heading into playoffs with great momentum!
